In April 14th, 1912, at 11:40 PM, the Titanic collided with an iceberg. Immediately after that collision, the cheap steel sheets deformed, popping out the rivets of it. And then, thousands of liters of water started to fill in the six compartments that it deformed apart. At 00:05, the lifeboats started going down the -2º C icy waters. The 2 nearest ships, the SS Californian and the RMS Carpathia received Titanic’s distress signals. Carpathia, who was 58 miles (93.34 kilometers) away from the sinking vessel, started moving faster than its designed speed towards it. At 2:10 AM on April 15th, Titanic sent its last distress signal. “CQD. CQD. SOS. SOS. This is Titanic. We are sinking fast. Come as fast as possible.” Its last distress signal was cut due to poor electricity conditions. At 2:18 AM, the vessel’s stern angle was about 20 to 35 degrees upright. And then, BOOM. The Titanic splits between its 3rd and 4th funnel. And, it stands at almost 90º upright and sinks really fast. At 2:20 AM, Titanic’s gone. It sank completely underwater. Titanic’s bow descents at 80 km per hour. And the stern implodes and its steel sheets are twisted and ripped off the ship’s hull, turning the stern into a complete chaos. The stern then starts descending into a spiral, throwing its debris off the hull.
